Tim Hudson is a baseball tradition dating back to dating back to the 20th century. He first started hitting batters in 1999, and yesterday he threw the 111th plunk of his career. 111 hit batters puts Hudson in 63rd place on the all time hitting batters list, tied with Pedro Astacio. Hudson’s 111th plunk was thrown at Diamondback’s catcher Miguel Montero. Montero now has 36 plunks and that moves him ahead of Justin Upton into 2nd place in Diamondbacks history. Montero is 25 plunks behind Luis Gonzalez for the Diamondbacks career record. Montero has been hit 8 times by the Giants.

Brewers shortstop Jean Segura got hit by Brad Lincoln yesterday, collecting the 99th plunk ever to occur in a Brewers-Phillies game.

Adam Eaton‘s plunk from Franklin Morales was the 199th ever to land on a batter born in 1988, and Stefen Romero‘s plunk from Hector Santiago was the 200th for those born that year.
