Prince Fielder took a plunk from Pedro Feliciano yesterday bringing his career HBP total to 102. That puts him in a tie fro 75th place on the career HBP list, even with Juan Pierre and Orlando Cepeda.
Aroldis Chapman‘s plunking of Khris Davis last night was clocked at 102mph, but MLB’s Gameday shows that it slowed to 93.9 by the time it hit Davis. By either measurement it was the fastest moving HBP this year. That plunk was also the 200th ever recorded in a Reds-Brewers game.
AJ Pierzynski took his 112th plunking, delivered by his former team, the White Sox. Pierzynski is alone in 55th place all time.
