Aramis Ramirez takes 103rd plunk

June 21st, 2013 by pbr

Vladamir Guerrero, Tris Speaker and Aramis Ramirez have all been hit by the same number of pitches. Ramirez joined a tie for 71st place on the all time hbp list when Astros pitcher Lucas Harrell hit him yesterday. Ramirez has been hit 6 times by the Astros, and 9 times in interleague games now. Among players born in the Dominican Republic, only 3 have been hit more times than Aramis Ramirez (Jose Guillen, Miguel Tejada and Manny Ramirez). Ramirez now ranks 5th in NL Central division plunk history, moving into a tie with Jason LaRue.

Shane Victorino added to his record as the most plunked Hawaiian of all time, getting his 59th career plunk. Jose Alvarez threw that one, his first as a major league pitcher.
