Randy Wolf threw his first plunk as a Baltimore Oriole last night, becoming the 523rd pitcher to throw a plunk for that franchise. It was Wolf’s 102nd career plunk thrown, putting him in 78th place on the all time list, tied with Tom Hughes, Bob Gibson, Chief Bender and Carlos Zambrano. His target this time was Yankee Andruw Jones, giving him a career total of 96 plunks.

Norichika Aoki got his 11th plunk of the year, extending his lead among this year’s rookie, leading off yesterday’s game against Josh Johnson. That was the 81st plunk of the year for the Brewers, leaving them one plunk short of their franchise record. The 2006 Brewers got hit 82 times. Aoki is also one plunk behind Prince Fielder‘s record for plunks by a Brewer’s rookie.

Danny Espinosa got his 13th plunk of the season, putting him 3 plunks behind Carlos Quentin for the National League lead.
