RA Dickey gets RBI plunk

Mets pitcher RA Dickey was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded yesterday, making him the first pitcher to pick up an RBI plunk since Micah Owing did that on September 6, 2009. The last time a Mets pitcher took a plunk with the bases loaded was May 20, 2004 when Jae Weong Seo got hit by Jason Marquis. Dickey had never been hit by a pitch before, and he’s the 345th Met to have at least 1 plunk.

Ryan Braun extended his consecutive games with a plunk streak to 2, getting hit yesterday by Chris Volstad. Braun now leads the National League in plunks with 4 this year.
