Players of the month for April 2012

Twins left fielder Josh Willingham just finished up his best April ever, at least by the standard we use for judging around here. He was hit by 4 pitches, leading all major league players in the HBP category. That gives him the Plunk Everyone Player of the Month award for April 2012.

In the National League, Jerry Hairston Jr., Brian Bogusevic, and Jonathan Lucroy all tied for the most HBPs with 3 each, which means we go to BACON to break the tie. Unfortunately, Hairston and Lucroy didn’t get enough plate appearances to be considered “qualified” for the month, so that means Bogusevic gets the NL Plunk Everyone Player of the Month award, despite a BACON of .567.
