WBC Plunks - 3/18/09

Team Cuba was eliminated from WBC competition last night, but they hit one more batter on their way out - a 9th inning plunking of Japan's Hiroyuki Nakajima on a pitch from Vladimir Garcia. That brings Cuba's total plunks thrown to a tournament leading 8. It'll take some work for any of the semi-finalists to match that number in only 2 remaining games, at most. Venezuela is the leader among the remaining teams with 4 hit batters, the US has two, and Japan and Korea have each hit just one batter.
